SPOTTERS GLASS CROWN POLARISED


Spotters source only the finest materials available from around the world and when it comes to precision optics; Crown glass is simply the only material of choice. Crown glass has a low refractive index and dispersion providing the eyes with distortion free precise and constant optics. Crown glass has very low coefficients of thermal expansion making it resistant to thermal shock, stress and expansion, about one-third of ordinary glass thus making it more resistant to breaking. If excessive force is applied to cause Crown glass to fracture, it is inclined to fracture into large pieces rather than splinter making it the safest glass material to use in optics. To further improve impact resistance Spotters Crown glass is hardened offering the wearer further protection. Crown glass also possesses the most natural and comfortable vision and has the best scratch resistance of all materials. Remember nothing is "scratch proof". SPOTTERS COLUMBIA RESIN POLARISED


Columbia resin aka CR39 is a plastic polymer not to be confused with polycarbonate, a homopolymer. Developed by the Columbia Chemical Co Resins project in 1940, CR39 was the 39th formula of thermosetting plastic to be developed. B-17 bomber aircrafts in WWII were coated with uncured CR39 resin and they would "self heal" the tanks when struck by flak. In 1947 Armorlite Lens Company manufactured the first CR39 optic lenses offering the wearer the finest vision second to glass. CR39 is almost completely opaque in the ultraviolet range and is transparent in the visible spectrum. It has the highest abrasion/scratch resistance of any uncoated optical plastic. CR39 is also resistant to most of solvents and other chemicals, gamma radiation, aging, and material fatigue, making it a perfect choice for long term optical clarity.

CRC Copper Columbia Resin


Columbia resin is a tough scratch resistant polymer with high abrasion resistance; in fact the highest abrasion/scratch resistance of any uncoated optical plastic.

 

High contrast copper tint prevents the majority of harmful and irritating short blue light waves from entering the retina leaving the wearer with absolute eye comfort.

 

Superior high contrast copper lens filters out the majority of damaging short waves of blue light  which land in front of the retina which accelerate blue blur, headaches and eye fatigue. See the world as it should be with vibrant colour, greater depth perception and sharper field of vision.

 

Columbia resin is also resistant to most solvents and other chemicals, gamma radiation,  aging, and material fatigue resulting in no milking of clarity over extended UV exposure.

Thermopolyma is a virtually unbreakable, light weight transparent thermoplastic and can withstand very low and high temperatures. Spotters use Thermopolyma when high base curves or one piece shields are used in the manufacture of their quality frames. High base curves are developed to hug the users face blocking light from entering their peripheral vision. Shields are manufactured to give the user full field of vision without any frame intrusion. Thermopolyma has very good transparency and is thermoformed resulting in greater curved frame designs being attainable and high impact resistance. Tough glaze is built onto the front surface to strengthen the scratch resistance of Thermopolyma, though this doesn't mean it is scratch proof because nothing is.

ThermoG Grey Thermopolyma Polarised


Thermopolyma is light weight, tough, impact resistant and can resist very low and high temperatures. Tough glaze is applied on the face surface to give this virtually unbreakable lens greater scratch resistance.

 

ThermoG is offered for the individual who is partial to the neutral grey colour. In high glare environments ThermoG produces a cooling effect on your eyes.

 

Full true polarization exists through careful perfect alignment of ThermoG on axis by Spotters technicians thus impeding scattered bounced light entering the eye.

Elite gradient Thermopolyma grey offers the sunglass industry rare polarised grey Thermopolyma gradient one piece lenses.

ThermoGG was introduced for the individual who pursues the cooling effect of grey in high glare environments but requires lighter lens colour when looking into low light areas.
